Palms and Lenten Study

5/4/2022

Dear members and friends of St Peter's Lutheran Church, Hobart.

This Sunday is Palm Sunday. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to get palm branches from our usual source. If anyone knows of palm branches that could be available, could you please let me (Pastor Mike) know, as displaying them would enhance our worship. Palm Sunday is a joyful celebration of our Lord who comes to his people as King with an underserved offer of eternal peace.

Our last Lenten study occurs this Wednesday, 6 April, at 7.30pm. The link is available here and on our St Peter’s website. The ‘mark of the Church’ we will be looking at this week is baptism. The readings are Matthew 28:18-20, Romans 6:3-5, Titus 3:4-8.

The Lutheran Church of Australia acknowledges that our loving Creator God first gave the land on which we are placed, to the peoples of the First Nations who have walked and cared for this land since before recorded time. We thank God for the land’s Traditional Custodians and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging as we travel this journey of reconciliation in Australia.
