Not too late to join Bible study. Worship in person from this Sunday!

Dear members and friends of St Peters, Hobart,
 
We had a solid start to our Bible study last Thursday evening with around 15 people tuning in. The online format worked pretty well with interaction taking place which will only further increase as well all become even more comfortable with the setup. 
 
Please join us again this Thursday, Sept 3rd at 7.30pm. The study will be fortnightly but we are holding back to back studies to get us into our rhythm of first and third Thursdays of the month. Most found their way on to the Bible study with no problems, but a couple did phone in order for Harrison to talk them through a step or two. It was a pleasure to have a couple of guests from further afield including two friends from the north of the State and one old friend or former member from the mainland.
 
Last Thursday we studied the first chapter of Revelation. I have asked that the participants read chapters 2 & 3 by themselves for homework as these have often been treated in studies and sermons here and elsewhere (e.g. I led a study on these at a couple of our prayer breakfast last year). If you are joining for the first time you will find it helpful to read Rev 1-3 in preparation. We are now about to step into some of the more enigmatic parts of the book, so please consider getting on board now!
 
Worship this Sunday:
 
We are back this Sunday with worship with HC at the St Peter's Centre at our regular time of 10.00am. If you have registered no need to do so again, just turn up. If not, register through the user-friendly facility on our website. The service will be live-streamed, but we encourage as many as possible to attend. While we do not want a lot of congregating afterwards in the St Peter's Centre at this stage we do encourage you to greet each other and catch up outside either under the veranda or if the weather is conducive in the sunshine. 
 
Last Sunday's installation service:
 
We had a great time at Burnie last week for the installation of Pastor Stuart Kleinig which was streamed. Even though there were some technical problems with the stream, I think it was worth it. It was always going to be a challenge using mobile data and a system without a history of streaming so I think it is good we achieved what we did. Around 180 unique viewers to date (with a good number sharing their viewing with partner and/or family), so not a waste of time or effort.
 
There has been very encouraging positive feedback regarding the service. Harrison has now ironed out the technical issues. If you did not tune in Sunday, the service is available here.
