Dear members and friends of St Peter’s Lutheran Church, Hobart.
It just seemed like we have only just celebrated Christmas and New Year, and here we are heading towards the end of February. Take heart dear friends and be of good courage. It won’t be long! That which is transitory, fleeting and passing will soon give way to what is permanent, restored and full of a vibrant life without end and loss. Darkness will give way to eternal day. Suffering to glory. Struggle to peace. Sorrow to eternal joy beyond comprehension. Brokenness, disappointment and failure to total healing, triumph and perfection. Keep the faith, dear friends, and keep your heads up. Continue to persevere. It is coming for those who are in Christ! Continue in his strength and undeserved grace and forgiveness, through which alone will enable us to stand on that day when our Lord returns to judge the living and the dead. This is my first comprehensive mail-out for the year. I can assure you all that life-giving worship continues every Sunday, 10am, at the St Peter’s Centre. For the first time in a long time, we did not have to check in on Sunday due to an easing of restrictions. For those unable to attend worship, it is also streamed live and can also be accessed anytime following the service time. Previous services are also available. Please check out St Peter’s website. This Sunday we will have a short break after worship for tea and coffee before members are invited to re-assemble for our AGM (probably around 11.30am). Our Book of Reports have been available after services. They can also be accessed online here, using the announcements page password. Lenten studies: I will lead a series of online studies for Lent which will commence on Ash Wednesday, which is March the 2nd, starting at 7.30pm. These will run each Wednesday in Lent, concluding on the Wednesday before Holy week. A link to access the studies will be made available on the St Peter’s website and mailed out closer to the date. Please also find this communication regarding a Governance review for Eastside Lutheran College. If you have any questions regarding this please speak to College Board Chairperson Jodi, Parish chairperson Kim, or any of the members of the College Board or Church Council. Warmest regards and blessings to you all in Christ, Pastor Mike. Saint Peter's Lutheran Church, Hobart. Comments are closed.
