Dear members and friends of St Peter’s Lutheran Church, Hobart.
Praise and thanks be to God that our recent COVID lockdown has been lifted and only lasted three days. Compared to many places, both in Australia and overseas, we have dodged many bullets here in Tasmania. Our Church doors were only closed for one Sunday, and we were able to stream that service, for which we received quite a number of positive comments and encouraging feedback. God willing, assuming there are no new positive COVID cases in Southern Tasmania, public assembly for worship will resume this Sunday, 24th of October, 10am at the St Peter’s Centre. Please do keep an eye out for any changes to the situation through reliable media sources. Should there be any major change we will send another mail-out as well as update our website and social media pages. Those attending Sunday will be required to check in. It will be great to see familiar faces again this Sunday. All being well COVID wise, confirmation lessons will also resume this Sunday at 9am. A reminder that we will study the last Chapter of Revelation this Thursday, 21st of October at 7.30pm. Join by clicking here or through the link on the St Peter’s homepage. A report on the first part of the Twentieth Convention of the Lutheran Church of Australia and New Zealand (LCANZ) was prepared by Sonia. This first part was held online due to COVID travel restrictions in many places making assembly impossible. Thank you Sonia for preparing this report and for acting as our delegate. Peace, faith, love, strength, joy and patient perseverance to you all in and through our suffering and triumphant Lord who endured and overcame for us. Warm regards and blessings, Pastor Mike.
