Dear members and friends of St Peters Lutheran Church, Hobart.
Tomorrow evening, Thursday 27th of August at 7.30pm, we make history! St Peter's will be holding its first virtual Bible study. Please join this engaging study on the Book of Revelation which has been requested by members. Get insights into our world and what is happening from God’s perspective based on sound, sober, proven interpretations. There will be no pressure to participate, but plenty of opportunities to ask questions and to comment if one desires. Please note the time is 7.30pm. This time has been chosen as we have had feedback that this time is likely to better suit parents of families. We will try and keep the study to around an hour, but provide the opportunity for any who wish to stay back in order to discuss and talk further after its conclusion to do so. We encourage all to take this opportunity to learn, grow, explore, be equipped as Christians, to have our eyes opened to further understanding spiritual reality and, above all, to hear from our holy and gracious God as he speaks to us in and through His Word. Join by clicking this link or by going to our St Peter's website and clicking on the Bible study button on the Home Page. If you have any problems getting on (that can occasionally happen the first time) please phone me on 0417 811 706 and Harrison will talk you on. This Sunday's altered worship time: This Sunday’s service will be the live stream of the installation service for Pastor Stuart Kleinig at Burnie. It will begin at 11.00am and accessed through our website just as you would for a service any other Sunday. Click here for the link if you would like to share it with others. Please join our Northern Tasmanian Parish on this important and exciting occasion for them. Worship and hear God’s Word proclaimed. I will be leading the service on behalf of Bishop Lester. Hoping this finds you all well. Warm regards and blessings, Pastor Mike. Dear members and friends of St Peter's Lutheran Church, Hobart.
We did have our first online Bible study scheduled for tomorrow evening, Thursday 20th of August. However, due to a scheduling clash with a Parish meeting, this has now been put back one week to next Thursday, 27th of August, 7.00pm. To join the meeting click here or on the link provided on the home page of our St Peter's website. If you have trouble joining the study tomorrow week call me on 0417 811 706 and Harrison will talk you through. It should be straight forward, but occasionally there can be teething problems the first time and after that no worries. The studies will be on the book of Revelation, as requested by various members. These studies will be well prepared, doctrinally sound and no doubt stimulating as we go in all sorts of directions depending upon the questions and comments by participants. There is no pressure. People can simply lurk and listen or ask questions and participate. We would love to have many of you on-board as we need to be continually fed and grow as Christians in our predicted or prophesied increasingly challenging and complex culture. Be sure to join us also for worship this Sunday, 10.00am, which will be streamed online. The following Sunday, 30th of August, will be Pastor Stuart Kleinig's installation at Burnie, 11.00am, also live-streamed. The following week, Sept 6th we will be back, God willing, to having worship with HC in the St Peter's Centre. Thank you for your prayers for our trip and for our family. There are positive initial signs and what we believe to be wonderful answers to prayer. However, we are also aware that things will be ongoing for a fair while and so ask for continued prayer not just for us but for each other as well as we face our various challenges. Life has its challenges as our Lord and the Scriptures said it would in very upfront ways, but this loving Lord also promises to be with us to the end of the age to transform our broken creation and existence into one of eternal glory and bliss. God is great and God is good! Warm regards and blessings in Christ our faithful Lord and sure hope, Pastor Mike. Saint Peter's Lutheran Church, Hobart. |
