Volunteers needed - to Teach English
We need your help!
LCA International Mission and Wycliffe English online trainer Margaret Borneman are working together to provide an online English program for the Abdi Sabda Seminary in Medan, Indonesia.
From July 12 to August 11, 2021 the Seminary will be running an English program during their semester break for 200 students. Our involvement will be providing a 100 minute session each day for 20 days. This session will include an introduction to the theme with a short video or Bible text. The class will then break into small groups, where teachers will assist them to further develop the theme. If you have an interest in supporting us with these sessions, please let us know.
At the conclusion of the sessions (which run from 10.30 am to 12.10 pm South Australian time), we are looking for 40 volunteers to help run a 30 minute time of mentoring, where they work with 5-7 students to enable them to practice their English through structured questions and activities. (If you are joining for the mentoring part of the session, it is helpful if you to listen into the session prior).
We are very excited by this opportunity to walk alongside our partner churches in Indonesia and share our faith and develop friendships, while doing something we do naturally – speak English!
If you have a love for meeting new friends, a teaching gift, a talent at working with others, or you just love talking! we would love to hear from you.
Even if you can’t commit to every day for 4 weeks, we would still like to hear from you.
Those taking part would be encouraged to be available for a session of training before the program begins.
Please pass this information onto people who may be interested in being involved!
